Ina Wichterich

 

Ina is a Ballet and Contemporary dancer, trained in Dance and Theatre in Rotterdam, who performed with  the world-famous Pina Bausch Dance Theatre Company and other European dance companies before moving  to South Africa.

She began teaching for JAZZART DANCE THEATRE and has become a vital and integral part of the team as teacher and as choreographer assisting on “Rain On a dead Man’s footprints”, “Guardian of  the Flame” & “Cargo”. She headed up the 2004 Klipfontein Corridor Project launch. In Jazzart's Danscape 2005 she premiered a collaborative work called “Ubuhle Bemvelo' with 20 dancers from Jazzart, La Rosa, CAFDA, Dance For All & the Wilvan School of Dance.

For Baxter Dance Festival  2005 & 2006 she choreographed “I can't give you anything but love” and a 2nd piece on the Remix Dance Theatre, a company with able-bodied and disabled dancers and choreographed ALTYD JONKER for the major festivals.

February 2006 saw Ina, her husband,  Owen Manamela and their daughter, Bontle, appearing with Mark in Marthinus Basson's PULCINELLA at Spier Summer Art's Festival
